Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare

The PC game Call of Duty 4, released in 2007, is a visually impressive and lightweight first-person shooter set during a civil war in Russia. The game features modern technology and weaponry. In 2011, a civil war erupted in Russia between the government and ultranationalist factions aiming to restore the country to the Soviet era. Simultaneously, separatist groups, led by Khaled Al-Asad, seized power in a "small but oil-rich" Middle Eastern country through a coup, executing President Al-Fulani. Al-Asad, a cruel and staunch anti-Western figure, provoked the United States to intervene.

On the second evening of the invasion, a platoon from the USMC 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, led by Lieutenant Vasquez, was sent to capture Al-Asad. The platoon attacked a TV station where Al-Asad was believed to be broadcasting live, only to find looping recordings. They then engaged in urban combat in an unnamed city south of the capital. During this time, they provided support and later repaired a downed M1 Abrams tank to aid their mission.
